Inspiration to Start an Institution
“No single person can be clever, everyone is incomplete by thoughts, everyone has limited experience, to solve this one has to exchange his thoughts to one another as its solution”. – Dr. Guy Poitevin (Baba).
In the year 1988 to solve the problems of the society I used to meet many people and had discussion with them regarding this issue. Through the medium of Asha Kendra (Puntamba). I met some social workers who specifically handle the issues of the problem in the society. One such person was Suresh Kokate, who was in charge of the social committee, who called me to take part in this discussion, this discussion session helped me a lot to solve these problems.
In the year 1992, to start the organisation called Indian National Social Action (INSAF) Forum, many eminent social workers and head of many social institution, held a meeting at Asha Kendra. During this meeting I had the privilege to meet Dr. Guy Baba, who is social worker of Pune District Village Community Development Asscociation (VCDA), and also a writer in his field, likewise I also met Hematai Rairkar who is one the social worker, working on the social issue of manual flour stone grinding concept, and its associated folksongs.
Through this introduction, I was instructed and director to introduce the Self education workshop by Dr. Guy Baba, for which I was ready to participate. For this I was given one and half year selection certificate. In this, first self education workshop meeting I shared my experience with many different workers from all over Maharashtra, and through it different problems in the society were known and how it could be solves, this is what I wanted to known from Dr. Guy Baba. I had shared my idea and thoughts with Dr. Guy Baba, and also that Dr. Guy Baba was ready to help me on these issues.
As per that my mission to collect information was started and as the years passed, in this section of the society, Dr. Guy Baba also helped me to complete my education and it was a boost to my social work, and also that I had the right direction and motivation to achieve my dreams. Further many people started asking me questions as to where and how I got all this inspiration and ideas for the society, and at last in the year 1999 it was decided in the meeting, of the self education workshop that an institution is needed to be established for this purpose.
During the session of the self education workshop, the word “Janhit” were discussed frequently. So its “Janhit” was finalised as the name for the organisation. Thus lastly on 26th September 2011 the name of the institution was given and registered as “Janhit Gramin Vikas va Samajik Sanshodhan Sanstha”. This was only only due the inspiration of the Dr. Guy Baba, this organisation has come to existence.
